Scania AB: “Fast response and genuine interest”
Fast response in all parts of the process combined with a genuine interest in continuous improvements is the reason why Scania AB has chosen to work with Temponik Skive A/S.
After meeting Temponik at Elmia SubContractor November 2012 Scania AB decided to resume the working relationship with Temponik Skive A/S.
In the beginning of 2013 Temponik received the first order and during the year we have completed 12 projects with several prototype castings in aluminium using our specialized plaster mould casting process – TempoCast. The prototypes are used for testing in development projects for trucks, busses and engines.
We have asked Sandra Claesson, Scania AB responsible for sourcing aluminium parts for Scania’s development projects to describe the co-operation with Temponik.
“We find the working relationship with Temponik very positive due to their fast response in all parts of the process and a genuine interest in continuous improvements."
"Unfortunately we had some deviations in the last projects but Temponik is showing and proving a willingness to improve and therefore I believe that our relationship should continue. As mentioned before I experience fast response and good support in technical issues.”
Sandra Claesson continues: “In the future we are considering using Temponik’s Die Casting technology for prototype or low volume production. Since I am responsible for purchasing HPDC in serial production it is of course best if the parts we are testing in the projects are produced with the same method. If it can be done in a cost effective way”
Mogens Albæk, Temponik Skive “We are always looking for ways to improve our processes to manufacture prototypes with similar mechanical features as high pressure die casting therefore it is inspiring for us to work with Scania AB. We also see an opportunity for long term working relationship and are prepared to learn and invest in special processes, since we believe this will be of mutual benefit.”
